How to Clean & Care for Your Le Creuset Enamel Cast Iron Cookware

 

 

Standard Cleaning: The great thing about enamel cast iron is that it doesn't have any special washing instructions as bare cast iron does. Simply wash with soap and water with a cleaning brush or sponge.

Dishwasher Cleaning: Although Le Creuset says their enamel cast iron is dishwasher safe, we recommend hand-washing only. The harsh chemicals in dishwasher detergent, high-heats, and prolonged wash times can deteriorate the surface of the enamel coating.

For Stuck-on Food: Scrape out stuck-on food with a wooden spoon or nylon scraper. You can additionally soak the stuck-on food in water to help release it.

Deep Cleaning: If you accidentally burnt something in your cookware or notice your enamel staining, use enamel cleaner to help remove stains and heat discoloration. Avoid stainless steel scouring pads (or steel wool) as they will scratch and damage the enamel surface.
